The property, depicted above by Edmund John Niemann, forms part of a row of four-storey building with commercial units on the ground floor and residential accommodations above, located in South London, Lamberth.
The projects brief was to convert the rear storage areas which has been poorly built and in need of replacement, enabling a residential redevelopment of four independent units. A careful analysis of its context, Streatham Common Conservation Area, allowed to prepared a scheme which would improve the existing environment, removing intrusive and life-expired elements and introducing an hidden garden for the residents, as well as uplifting the building’s performances for a sustainable future, providing high quality accommodations, satisfying the client’s aspirations and council’s requirement.
